1. For the safety of the spectators and for insurance reasons, all rockets flown from Hudson Ranch must follow the NAR Model Rocket Safety Code or the NAR High Power Rocketry Safety Code and may only use NAR/TRA/CAR certified rocket engines. No experimental rocket engines will be allowed.
2. Obey all instructions of the Range Safety Officer (RSO), the Launch Control Officer (LCO) and any of their deputies. There will be Fire Department crews and Paramedics on the field during launch operations, and please obey their instructions also. The activities on the Sport Range will be broadcast on FM radio. Please stay tuned in so you can hear any warnings, especially if you can't hear the public address system.
3. There are many tripping hazards on the ground, such as gofer holes, and thousands of cactus. We recommend that you wear hiking boots or other appropriate footwear. Some of the cactus spines easily penetrate sneakers or canvas tennis shoes. Look up while following your rockets, but watch where you walk!
4. Please be sure your pets are okay with rocketry & the field conditions before bringing them to the field. Pets should be leashed at all times. Medical emergencies for animals are not something we want to deal with. Guide dogs are welcome.
5. Camping is permitted, but only in designated areas, and NO open fires. Please be respectful of other campers, and promote night time tranquility by shutting down generators early. The organizers of this event reserve the right to shut down camping on-site at any given time.
6. If you see something that is potentially unsafe, please let the RSO or the LCO know. We are all responsible for safety.
7. Pick up all liter on the ground, even if it is not yours. Let's leave the field cleaner than when we got here.
8. Keep your children under your control at all times.
9. There are scorpions and rattlesnakes on the field. Exercise caution near their habitats.
10. Parking is in designated areas only. Do not drive any vehicles on the range to retrieve your rockets.
11. All dethermalizers must not present a fire risk due to the dry field conditions. All dethermalizers must be pointed out to the safety check officer and indicated on the flight card. Dethermalizers using fuses or wicks present a serious fire hazard and will not be allowed.
