He has there a portable osciliscope connected to a temperature sensor. its VERY sensitive and shows the past 6 minutes of data at any one time so he can track the progression of thermals across the field.

Tower Launching an Egg lofter. launch lugs add lots of friction drag against the rod and against the air robbing you of altitude. the also add mass. a tower eliminates them all together and no "binding" ie getting stuck on the rod of having a bind slow the model down wasting fuel.
The smoke left over from a launch seconds earlier. Noticed not to many flights shots. yes I got a few of them but a note. these buggers are tiny and light. and although they use tiny engines they have a VERY high power to mass ration. meaning they get up and move out REALLY fast making them EXCEEDINGLY hard to capture with a camera. its like trying to get a picture of a mosquito or a Alpha with a D engine in it :-) |
