Thursday August 4th 2005 Page 01 - Vids and More - Contest Results Ok Today was a bit slow. Very few sport flights not as many contest flights as I expected - I was wiped out and tired and HUGE wind almost the entire day. Many of the nicer flights were made early with the low wind which is the same time I made my flights :-( So I only have a few pictures for today but I have another treat. My Vidtastic on an F20-4 !! Here are the pictures for today.

Nice Redstone going up and my Nothing but tube rocket making one of many sharp 90' turns (not stable but it did work partly IE the D12-3 is in the TOP of that BT-101 all the way up front ie the success is that it DID produce sufficient thrust like that to fly (was pretty funny to watch too) The rocket on the left was accidentally flown I managed to whip the camera over enough to capture the shot. then they launched my rocket :-) It has the video camera on board (is the little white thing at the top of the tube) And Recovery (landed right in front of me :-) no its not bent look closely the "bent" part is just the nose cone :-) A few other rockets I nabbed from my tent hence why they are soooo tiny :-) I so need a bigger lens :-) HERE are some pictures from Sunday day 3 that George Gassaway. though he only has a megapixel camera he manages to capture some truly cool upclose shots !! George's FAI Helicopter model landed almost half a mile away right smack in the middle of the highway !! a few inches left or right and it would have ended up IN the lanes of traffic and would have probably been squished :-) the S8 Glider flyoffs for FAI competition Left is Greg "Fat Albert" Stewart's RCRG Taking off and right is Rod Schafer (shown) and Steve Foster with there ULTRA Micro 1/2a capable Boost Glider !! Utterly Amazing peice of gadgetry and craftsmanship ! Here he is piloting it and here the glider is in the air (AWESOME shot George !) Keith Vinyard and his S8 Glider below right is the launch |
