Harmon Flying Field

NARAM-55 will be flown on the Harmon Flying Field launch site, located in Aurora, Portage County, Ohio, at 619 Bartlett Road (41°16'45.6"N, 81°19'8.7"W).

It is a 140-acre field, surrounded by farm fields. Neighbors have generally been friendly and helpful recovering models. The field is partially tree-covered. The clear space on the field is 2500 feet east-west and 1000 feet north-south. NARAM participants will be parking on the east-end of the field.

This former farm field is owned by the City of Aurora and managed by their Parks and Recreation Department. They routinely mow and care for the field, which is shared with the Flying Aces of Aurora model airplane club. This is the field regularly used by MTMA for sport launches and regional meets since 2008.

The field does not support high power flights as specified per NFPA 1127 standards.

Weather is typically hot and humid during late July, with average high temperatures in the low to middle 80s and average low temperatures in the low to middle 60s.
