the naram-43 fieldour field is home to our hosts, the 1941 historic aircraft group. they are dedicated to the preservation of our aviation history, and hold an annual airshow at the field every july. be sure to check out their web site for information on this incredible event. the 1941 historic aircraft group has indicated interest in operating a food stand during naram week. in the past, they have offered coffee and doughnuts in the mornings, and burgers and franks between 11:00 and mid-afternoon. ice-cold drinks have been offered all day (until they run out). we will work with them to make sure they know how many people to expect. our field contains a grass runway, and is listed as "d-52" on your detroit sectional. services for general aviation aircraft are available at nearby rochester and dansville airports, if you're interested in flying in. from time to time, general aviation aircraft will take off or land at the field. we will suspend launches during these brief intervals. chances are you'll be checking out the historic aircraft which fly in and out of the naram field, including a messerschmidt! we have about 160 hectares (that's 400 acres for the old-fashioned types) on the north side of the road, and our recovery area is nearly a mile deep. we put the parking, prep, and spectator areas between the road and the flight lines, leaving plenty of room for recovery.
