FLYING SAUCER DURATION

This Flying Saucer Duration event is open to single-staged entries that ascend and descend without changing shape relying entirely on drag to facilitate recovery. Entries may not separate into two or more unattached parts or eject its motor. Entries must be generally symmetrical about a line down through the center of the motor. A number of commercially available flying saucer kits are available for this event. Entries must be powered by a C motor.

Entries will be timed from the instant of first motion on the launcher until touchdown. The score will be the flight duration in seconds. An unlimited number of flights will be allowed.

LOAD GLIDE DURATION

This event adds an extra challenge to the ‘typical’ boost or rocket glide event. The score for Load Glide Duration is the flight duration multiplied by the weight (in grams) of the gliding portion of the entry. Load Glide Duration seeks to reward entries that keep heavy loads in the air as long as possible. Entries must be powered by a single C motor. Boost and Rocket Glider designs are eligible.
