July 1 UpdateThe calendar reads July 1!! Do I need to remind anyone that NARAM 50 starts in just 25 days? Things are really starting to come together and I for one am thinking everyone is going to be pleased with the end result that my team of hard working volunteers have put together. James Duffy of Rocket Aero has put together a DVD that has been professionaly edited and produced. I have heard in advance some of the content, and this one looks to be outstanding. These will still be avaialable at NARAM to buy. We are also planning on having a limited number of t-shirts, patches and commemorative pins avaialabe to buy also. If you still have not registered please go to the registration online as this will shut down on July 17th. On Saturday we are going to have a commemorative launch at 11:00am for some of the pioneers of the hobby to fly something from their own collections. Bill Stine has told me he is going to be bringing something really old to fly. Saturday night is the ORR and if you have not registered please do so. You can actually register at the door if you decide to attend. Everyone is invited to the ORR, you do not have to have a NAR# lower then 50K to attend. There is no late fee associated with the ORR. For more details take a closer look at the NARAM-50 website and the page marked ORR. Sunday afternoon we are having a "fun" contest drag race. About 50 people have signed up so far. Please let us know if you are planning on participating. There is no additional fee, you just have to be a registered sport or contest flyer. The Imagination Celebration will close out the sport flying on Sunday with a number of fun projects. George Gassaway has said he will by flying a 4X Upscale RC Astron Space Plane! We are going to have another social event right at the field on Tuesday after flying concludes. We are having a BBQ catered in and will be giving out awards fo the first 2 days of contests event. Wednesday is scheduled to be the "off" day and no flying will be going on. Take advantage of the day off and visit some of the sights in the region NARAM at night will be going all week long with something going on each and every night. The vendors forum will take place on Sunday this year to give some of the sport flyers only coming for the weekend a chance to attend. The Canon Eduactional Auction will also have some items that are going to be listed ahead of time in a silent auction.
