Deuces Wild!

NARAM 47 will offer a Sport Flying field to test out your competetion models as well as just have some fun. This field will be run by our neighbor club, the Tripoli Mid Ohio club. All NAR rules will be in effect. There will be a 4500' HPR waiver with special ceilings for rockets with J impulse and larger motors, and K motors are the largest allowable at the field.

After our conversation the other day I thought you'd get a kick out of seeing a picture of that foam cup rocket I was telling you about that I plan on launching at NARAM (assuming the test flight works well :) )

Jim says that the rocket's purpose is "to highlight the fun and excitement that can be had with foam cup rocketry," and that he'll get us some pictures of the non-HPR D12 test flight. Stay tuned!

Saturn 1B Block V on Eight C6s

Josh Tschirhart of Team Meatball Rocketry (T-684) wrote to tell us about an interesting R&D demo flight he's planning for Thursday:

Some preliminary details of the project can be found at http://www.meatballrocketry.com/spider.htm. The spider clustering method does NOT use regular black powder and has been proven safe to use in several test flights for clustering between four and thirteen motors.

The pic at left is of a Saturn 1B Block V scale model they launched atop eight C6 motors using the method, but this time Josh and his team plan to fly a cluster of thirteen A10s in an unpainted sport rocket they call "Calamity Jane." We can't wait!

Got a special flight you'd like folks to know about? Write us!
