naram-43: high impulse flyingnaturally, all flights must conform to the applicable nar safety code. see the nar safety codes at the nar web site. also, only nar and tripoli certified engines/motors/propellant actuated devices may be used on any naram range. check with these organizations for the latest certification lists. engines with "g" impulse and higher, as well as any reloadable engine, must be flown by an adult. federal regulations prohibit the sale to, possession by, or use of reloadables or g-and higher engines by those under 18 years of age. please write us if you have any questions regarding this policy. we have been granted an faa waiver of parts 101.23(b) and 101.23(c), which will permit flights of high-impulse models up to 8000 feet agl. the waiver is in-hand for the entire week.
nar certificationthe naram-43 staff is committed to assist in whatever practical manner it can in making your certification attempt go smoothly. however, in order to ensure smooth range operations, particularly on saturday and sunday, we ask that you refrain from asking on-duty range personnel from serving on your certification team. please line up your witnesses beforehand in order to insure you have the greatest level of interaction and attention.level 1 and 2 certifications will be handled routinely. if you would like to attempt a level 3, please contact us regarding special arrangements. the level 2 written test will be administered at times and locations to be announced later. please check this page for updates.
ground support equipmentyour host section, the monroe astronautical rocket society, will be using its 32-pad launch control relay system. the pads will be set up in clusters of five, with two additional far pads for complex projects. rod diameters provided will be 1/8" and 3/16" (for model rockets), 1/4", and 7/16". we shall also have a 3/8" rod or two, and both a large and a small black sky rail, as well as our own special rail system.
