| "Conflict with Airport?" | |
It is my understanding that the NARAM 2000 launch site is directly across the street from the Fremont County Airport. I know that you ("you" being the NARAM 2000 organizers) wouldn't have chosen this site without making sure that this would not be a problem. I know that the airport is still functioning, because I recently saw an article in the Denver Post regarding a skydiving group that flies out of that airport. So, I am just curious, how will the launch be coordinated with flights in and out of that airport? | |

Ken has already been in contact with the local airport(s) and the FAA. We have the 10,000' AGL approval - with windows available to higher altitudes if/when necessary. I don't recall all the specifics, but I believe we will be in contact with the local airport throughout the event. Ken will probably chime in with more details . . . but I know we're covered in this area. | |

There is very little traffic out of this airport during NARAM. The skydivers stay south of the highway (airport side). I have spoken with the airport manager, the skydiving manager and the soaring manager and we have come to a workable agreement. We have already flown a waivered launch at the NARAM site with full cooperation of not only Fremont County Airport, but with the approach control of Pueblo and Denver, all simultaneously. | |
