I would also be interested if there is somewhere to camp
(without hookups) that would be within walking distance (a mile or so)
of the field.

Will there be regular shuttles from the hotels/ campsites for those without vehicles (especially young people) and those who would just rather not fight the parking at the launch site? -Bill

I don't think we're planning on any organized shuttle services.
However, I don't think it will be too hard to find rides when necessary
if you just ask around. The good news is that it isn't too far to the
launch site from Canon City - and I don't think you'll have to do much
'fighting' to park at the site if you choose to drive.Feel free to use this forum to find out who is staying at the same place you are, etc. Jeff

The site will be closed at night. The closest campground for
RV's is RV Station Campground, 3120 East Main, (303)275-4576. It is
about five miles away from the launch site.Ken Mizoi Contest Director, NARAM 2000 (42)

I'm not sure about the 'onsite' part - there aren't any
facilities/hookups there for RV's. However, there are lots of
campgrounds of all different types in the area. That's something I want
to add to the web site soon. I know everyone won't be in the hotel - and
there are plenty of other options around. If you look at http://canoncity.com/noframes/lodging.htm you'll find a list of some campgrounds in the area including an RV park. You could probably contact some of these as a start. Also - Royal View Campground has full RV hookups - as does Buffalo Bill's Royal Gorge Campground. Hope this helps - it should be a good start.
