Club Launches

Don't forget to come out to a Launch if you are nearby. We are always happy to see other Rocketeers from distant shores. Colorado Springs is 6800 feet above sea level - When was the last time you managed 7000 feet on an Alpha with an A8-3 (200 ft + the altitude)? Try it from a 12,000 foot mountain pass!!!

If you already live here, bring your model rocket down and fly it! The club provides launch equipment. In addition to sports flying, the club is active in contests and competes strongly in the areas of Boost Gliders, Parachute Duration, Streamer Duration, Helicoptor Recovery, Odd-Rocs and Altitude events. Some members participate in high powered launches (H and higher motors) in conjunction with the regional Tripoli association. High Powered launches are held at the Tripoli site (Hartsel Colorado).

Photos by Nadine

COSROCS is proud to host a Rocket Photo Web Site for Nadine Kinney. Nadine has been clicking away at our local launches for quite some time. She's also become a common sight at many of the national and regional launches. Her photos have been published in all of the major rocketry magazines, a rocketry related calendar for 2001 and they even appeared as a sequence of still shots in a rocket video.
